Craft popsicle sticks - either plain or coloured (four per snowflake)
Buttons, sequin, rhinestones
Craft Glue or hot glue gun
Twine, ribbon or yarn (optional)
This seasonal craft can be used in many ways. Your children can make many snowflakes and you can hang them in your windows, put a ribbon or string on them and they can be tree ornaments, even put a family members name on them as a holiday table place card.
How to assemble:
Step 1: Each snowflake will need four craft sticks. Using craft glue (or hot glue gun with adult supervision), apply a small dab of glue into the centre of the sticks and glue to form the shape of the snowflake. Let dry to avoid breaking apart.
Step 2: Choose your buttons, sequins or rhinestones and use craft glue or your glue gun and adhere them to your craft sticks in any order that your child would like. This is a great opportunity to encourage colour blocking and patterning. Let dry.
Step 3: Once snowflake is dry, you can decide with your child how they would like to display their snowflakes.
Decoration Suggestions:
Put a string or ribbon on it and use it as a tree ornament.
Glue small loops on them and string them together to make a staircase garland
Place cards for your holiday table.
