Construction paper (various colors), scrap booking or patterned paper
Scissors
Craft glue (white or clear)
Paper plate
This is a craft that you and your children can work on together. Showing your children how to create hearts from folded paper will allow them to be creative showcasing what they have learned.
How to Assemble:
Step 1: Using the paper plate, poke a hole and cut out the circle centre of the paper plate. This will form the base of the wreath.
Step 2: Using your paper supply (construction, scrap booking, or pattern paper) to create a variety of different sized hearts. This may require adult assistance depending on the ages of your children.
Step 3: Fold each piece of construction paper in half, cut a half heart shape out of the construction paper along the folded edge. Unfold your cut out shape and you’ll have a perfect little heart. Repeat this process many times, making different sized hearts.
Step 4: Using your craft white or clear glue, glue the construction paper hearts to completely cover your paper plate circle frame.
Step 5: You can tie's a bow and paste it on to decorate further. You can put a piece of yarn on the back to hang it.
You can hang your heart wreath on your front door, or on your children's bedroom door to celebrate the day.
